Casa San Jose’s English As A Second Language (ESL) program is recruiting volunteers excited to work with beginning-level adult English learners during our online fall session, running September 14 through November 19. Our classes meet on Zoom Mondays through Thursdays from 7pm to 8:30pm.
Our program supports Latino adult learners working to improve their English for daily life, work, and community connection. We are especially looking for volunteers who are:
Comfortable working with Spanish-speaking students who have limited English. (Spanish fluency is a plus)
Available one night a week from 7pm to 8:30pm
Comfortable using Zoom and Google Workspace
Willing to coordinate and communicate with fellow volunteers throughout the session
Familiarity with teaching or prior ESL experience is a plus
We provide:
Zoom accounts for class meetings
Volunteer training
Curriculum, lesson templates, and teaching resources
Ongoing support from program staff
Substitutes for vacations and prior commitments
If you are interested in volunteering or would like to learn more, please contact Rebecca Droke, ESL program coordinator at rebecca@casasanjose.org.
**You must have all your clearances completed before the start of the session.**
