Leadership skills to guide group activities, assist with homework, and encourage participation.

Organizational skills to help with scheduling, program setup, and classroom management.

Cultural sensitivity and awareness, particularly in working with Latino youth and their families.
Select Skills

Experience tutoring, mentoring, or working with children in an educational or community setting.

Creativity in planning and facilitating activities related to culture, education, leadership, nutrition, sports, mental health, and finance.

Bilingual skills (Spanish/English).

Basic knowledge of safety and emergency procedures in a classroom or community program setting.

Teamwork and collaboration to support fellow coordinators and volunteers.
Qualifications

Commitment to serve at least one semester (fall or spring) or for the duration of the after-school program.

Background check and child protection clearances required before volunteering.
-
Passion for working with youth and making a positive impact in the community.

Ability to commit to program schedule (Monday-Friday, 3:30PM–6:00 PM) with flexibility.

Previous volunteer or professional experience with youth is a plus.
